Welcome to My Rock & Roll Journey
October 15, 1979 — I turned 12, and my life changed forever. As a birthday gift, my parents let my two older sisters drag me along to see KISS live on their Love Gun tour. Maybe they thought I’d keep my sisters out of trouble. Maybe they were just tired of me begging. Either way, that night lit a fire in me that never went out.
That Christmas, my mom gave me a beat-up electric guitar — cheap, chipped, and barely playable. But to me, it was everything. We couldn’t afford lessons, and in our small Iowa town, there weren’t any teachers even if we could. Armed with nothing but a dusty beginner book and a dream, I fumbled through chords and riffs until frustration won and the guitar went silent.
But life has a funny way of calling you back. Years later, after my mom passed away, I made a promise — to her, and to myself — to pick that guitar back up and never put it down again.
This site is the next step in that journey and the journey is still unfolding. I’ve always believed that rock & roll isn’t just about music. It’s about telling your story, living it out loud, and chasing what feels like destiny. I’m here to make noise, chase the dream, and become the rock guitarist I was meant to be.
Let’s crank it up.
